University Place Residents Transportation
University Place Residents have the option of valet parking. Residents register their cars with the Transportation/Valet Coordinator, and provide him with a set of car keys for parking and retrieval purposes. There is also a “no tipping” policy in order to have an equitable arrangement for all of the staff.
Residents who choose not to drive can take advantage of a variety of options. Transportation on and around the Southwest campus is complimentary. A fleet of vehicles from buses to vans to golf carts are subsidized by Memorial Hermann and University Place making travel to and from HBU's Bradshaw Fitness Center, doctors’ appointments, or other locations in Houston, TX convenient and accessible. University Place has its own golf cart driven by Resident Volunteers known as the Gopher. With the warmer climate in Houston, TX, it’s tailor-made for nearly year-round use. Individuals can certainly choose to drive their own vehicles, but it’s definitely not a necessity.
University Place has a variety of activities planned throughout the month. For scheduled events that take place away from University Place, transportation is pre-arranged and there is no additional cost to the Resident. Once a week, staff provides an hourly shuttle where Residents can be dropped off at any number of locations around Houston and picked up an hour later.
Special transportation can also be arranged at any time through the University Place valet.
